PAST TENSES

1. Simple Past Tense

Form: S + V2
S + did + not + Vbi (negative)
Ex:
Single time in the past.
Yesterday, I met her in Beringharjo.
General thruth in the past.
Soekarno was our president
Habitual action in the past.
Several years ago The rivers alwayas flow.

2. Past Continous Tense
Form: S + was/were + Ving
Ex:
Menyatakan aktifitas yang sedang berlangsung pada masa lampau.
She was earing banana when my mother called me yesterday
Menyatakan aktifitas yang berangsur-berangsur terjadi pada waktu lampau.
The wind was blooming harder

3. Past Perfect Tense

Form: S + had + V3
Menyatakan suatu pekerjaan yang sudah selesai dikerjakan ketika peristiwa lain sedang terjadi.
The thief had escape, before the police came.

4. Past Perfect Continous Tense

Form: S + had + been + Ving
Ex:
Menyatakan suatu peristiwa yang terjadi pada waktu lampau dan peristiwa itu masih berlangsung ketika peristiwa lain terjadi.
Marry had been sleeping for two hour when I visited her last night
